National Muslim Youth Names Martin K. N. Kollie “Activist of the Year 2025”

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Muslim Youth, a leading voice within the Liberian Muslim community, has named social justice campaigner Martin K. N. Kollie as “Activist of the Year 2025.”

Kollie, who has been living in exile, received the honor in recognition of his sustained advocacy for democracy, social justice, and the protection of ordinary citizens in Liberia.

In a message of gratitude, Kollie expressed deep appreciation to the Muslim community for what he described as a “privilege and an honor” to be recognized even while far from home.

“With utmost humility, we wholeheartedly thank the Muslim community in Liberia, especially the National Muslim Youth, for this award. Even while away from home, it is a privilege and an honor for our people to recognize what we do every day to defend the motherland, safeguard the commonwealth, protect the interests of the ordinary people, and fight for a more just, inclusive, and equal Republic,” he stated.

He further dedicated the award to all “peace-loving Liberians, whose resilience in pursuit of a new dawn in Liberia remains a source of inspiration and courage.”

The activist, widely known for his outspoken stance on governance, corruption, and youth empowerment, pledged to continue advocating for the Liberian people. “We will continue to fight for y’all – The People. Liberia Prima, Liberia In Perpetuum. Liberia First, Liberia Forever,” he wrote.

The recognition by the National Muslim Youth adds to a growing list of acknowledgments of Kollie’s work as a leading civic voice in Liberia’s political and social landscape.
