MKNK Foundation Offers L$1.3 Million in Scholarships for 50 Liberians to Gain Technical Skills

Monrovia, Liberia – The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNKF) has announced a new scholarship initiative worth L$1.3 million to support 50 Liberians in acquiring technical and vocational skills at the ForLife Vocational and Technical Training Institute.

The six-month scholarship program, valued at US$150 per beneficiary, fully covers registration and tuition costs, enabling participants to focus on learning market-driven, hands-on skills without financial burden.

The training will provide opportunities in ten specialized areas:

1. Architecture Drafting
2. Satellite Dish Installation
3. Plumbing
4. Electricity
5. AC and Refrigerator Repair
6. Advanced Solar Panel Installation
7. Interior Decoration
8. Biodigester Engineering
9. CCTV Installation
10. Pastry

Speaking on the initiative, MKNK Foundation founder Martin K. N. Kollie emphasized the importance of equipping Liberian youth with skills to foster self-employment and competitiveness in the job market.

“More Liberians, especially the youth, can create jobs for themselves and become competitive in the labor market if they acquire technical skills. It is not enough to fight for the people through advocacy—we must also empower them to become economically independent,” Kollie stated.

Interested applicants must be at least high school graduates who can read and write. Applications are open until Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Liberian time. The foundation assured that the selection process will be competitive, open, and transparent.
