MKNK Foundation: 2025 in Review — Over 31 Interventions, Thousands Impacted Across Liberia

The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation (MKNK-F) has released its 2025 Impact Review, highlighting more than 31 major interventions carried out across Liberia in education, health, youth empowerment, social welfare, and community development. Guided by the principle of more action, more work, and less talking, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to delivering practical and sustainable solutions for the Liberian people.

Beyond advocacy, the Foundation focused on direct action to empower youth, women, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities nationwide. Key achievements in 2025 include:

  • Education & Scholarships:
MKNK-F awarded full four-year university scholarships to 40 Liberians at Smythe University College, provided scholarships and financial aid to 18 high school and university students, and supported over 300 youth and professionals through TVET institutions such as AVTI, AlphaTech, LYCEP, ForLife, and GONET Academy. The Foundation also paid L$300,000 in entrance fees for 100 University of Liberia students, including 14 visually impaired and deaf beneficiaries, and supported students through Margibi University, MONSU, and Booker T. Washington Institute.
  • Youth Development & Skills Training:
Over 1,000 high school students benefited from intensive WAEC tutorial and career mentorship programs, while 65 Liberians were enrolled in Cohort One of the MKNK Foundation Foreign Scholarship Assistance Program (MFFSA).
  • Health, Social Welfare & Humanitarian Support:
The Foundation donated rice to Muslim communities during Ramadan, supported orphanages, elderly citizens, and persons with disabilities, provided assistive devices and small business support to a disabled single mother in Bong County, and raised tens of thousands of U.S. dollars for urgent medical cases.
  • Infrastructure, Technology & Institutions:
MKNK-F donated 150 bags of cement for the construction of the Press Union of Liberia Headquarters, constructed a modern bus stop in Bomi County, and installed Starlink high-speed internet at William V. S. Tubman High School—the largest public high school in Liberia.
  • Sports, Arts & Social Cohesion:
Support was extended to the Montserrado County Sports Team with equipment donations, promotion of award-winning Liberian artists, sponsorship of cultural festivals and concerts, and financial contributions to community-led initiatives promoting unity and national cohesion.
  • Justice, Advocacy & Public Awareness:
The Foundation hired lawyers to support abused Liberians, organized a national webinar on “Journey to Canada” to promote migration awareness and prevent scams, and received a Certificate of Appreciation for supporting SMART Liberia’s Giving Month.

In total, the MKNK Foundation supported thousands of Liberians in 2025, with a strong focus on youth empowerment, inclusion, and dignity.

“As an activist, advocacy alone is not enough. We must also help find solutions,” the Foundation emphasized, reaffirming its vision for a New Liberia where every citizen can realize their full potential.

As the year ends, the MKNK Foundation expressed gratitude to all partners, supporters, and volunteers, while looking ahead to 2026 with hope, optimism, and renewed commitment to serving Liberia.
