MKNK Foundation Announces First Cohort of Foreign Scholarship Support Program

The MKNK Foundation has released the official list of 50 vetted and qualified beneficiaries for Cohort 1 of its Foreign Scholarship Support and Technical Assistance Program, marking a major step forward in its commitment to expanding educational opportunities for Liberians at home and abroad.

The initiative, described as a long-term national empowerment strategy, aims to support at least 50 Liberians per cohort, with a bold goal of helping a minimum of 10 Liberians travel for study opportunities every year beginning next year. According to the Foundation, this effort is designed to build a new generation of globally trained professionals who will return to contribute to Liberia’s growth and development.

“If not Liberians first, then who?” the Foundation stated as it unveiled the names of the selected candidates. The team emphasized that this program reflects its belief that true activism goes beyond advocacy—it requires inspiring, impacting, and empowering real people with real opportunities.

While Cohort 1 has now been finalized, applicants who were not selected are encouraged to remain hopeful, as they will receive priority consideration in Cohort 2.
